Top 10 Biggest Songs of 2018 (well so far…)

We’re moving on from the Top 10 Wedding & First Dance Songs in 2018. Now it’s time to check in on the biggest songs of the year so far! There are so many different charts from the biggest selling songs to the most streamed on video or audio. This official chart includes a combination of digital downloads, plus audio and video streaming to give us the biggest songs overall.

No top 10 in recent years would be complete without an appearance from Mr Sheeran. A big year though for Drake, Dua Lipa and George Ezra who all make it into the top 10 more than once.

The Front Runners…

Drake: A great year so far for Drake with “God’s Plan” taking the top spot after spending nine weeks at number one in the charts. The song, taken from his Scorpion album, raked in 1.46 million in sales. Drake’s hit also topped the most-streamed chart with 135.5 plays up to September this year.

Dua Lipa & Calvin Harris: Another song that hogged number one for a long time. Eight weeks for their hit “One Kiss” and a place at number two on the biggest song of the year list.

Rudimental: “These Days” only managed one week at number one in the charts back in April. The hit song featured Jess Glynne, Macklemore and Dan Caplen and takes the third spot for biggest song of the year with combined sales of 1.25 million. The song also took Jess Glynne to seven number ones which is a record for any British female solo artist.

Keala Settle: With the incredible success of the film, The Greatest Showman, “This Is Me” takes fourth place. Combined sales have reached 1.15 million but it tops the biggest selling chart with 237,000 downloads.

George Ezra: He features twice in the top ten but it’s “Shotgun” that comes in at number five. For many it was the anthem of Summer ‘18 and totalled 1.11 million combined sales.
